Mark Boone
Sr. Director of Planning & Mitigation
Mark Boone is a Senior Director and Practice Lead for Tidal Basin’s Planning and Mitigation Practice. He brings a formidable track record of more than seventeen (17) years of experience leading large-scale recovery and resilience-building initiatives.
His command over federal funding, program management, and disaster mitigation includes eighteen (18) disaster recovery programs, effectively managing response, recovery, and mitigation programs to help communities recover and build resilience for future storms. Before joining Tidal Basin, he served as Senior Program Manager at a competing, industry-renowned emergency management consulting firm, where he oversaw the Puerto Rico Non-Federal Match Program (NFMP), aiding rebuilding and resilience initiatives for communities affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Mark previously served as temporary Response Program Manager at Tidal Basin, supporting the Florida COVID-19 Pandemic Vaccine Program by playing a key role in overseeing and supporting distribution operations at POD (points of delivery) sites for nearly 16 million vaccinations provided to residents throughout Florida.
His career also includes pivotal roles in disaster mitigation at other emergency management consulting firms. He served as the Senior Administrator for Monroe County, Florida, where he oversaw their Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) and Community Development Block (CDBG) Grant programs, wrote grants, and served as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for the State of South Carolina and for Mecklenburg County in Charlotte NC.
Mark is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University and is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) with specialized training from HUD Exchange and FEMA Independent Studies.
