Daniel A. Craig is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tidal Basin Group and its affiliates, including Tidal Basin Caribe, Tidal Basin Federal, TB Technologies, TB Mosaic Financial, and TB Customer Relations. He has over 25 years of experience in government relations and comprehensive emergency management consulting. He has advised the White House, dozens of governors, and State administrations on disaster recovery, housing, and long-term economic recovery strategies. He has spoken at multiple universities, conferences, broadcast television, and government leadership gatherings on managing disasters while speeding community and economic recovery. Dan also served on numerous Governor’s transition teams.
During his tenure at Tidal Basin, Dan has led the design and initiation of numerous large-scale, complex programs, including Puerto Rico’s Sheltering and Temporary Essential Power (STEP) program after Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated the island. He also initiated Florida’s first state-led non-congregate sheltering (NCS) housing and home repair programs after Hurricanes Ian and Idalia. In the aftermath of the catastrophic wildfires that ravaged Maui, Dan served as a strategic advisor to the Governor of Hawai’i for emergency response and recovery, including liaising with federal agencies as requested.
Prior to founding Tidal Basin, Dan was Presidentially appointed to serve as Associate Administrator of Recovery for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where he was responsible for overseeing the Federal Government’s recovery efforts on all presidentially declared events, including the Space Shuttle Columbia crash, the wildfires of 2003, and the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005.
Before becoming the Associate Administrator for the Recovery Division at FEMA, Dan was the Regional Administrator for the New England area (Region I), where he was responsible for all FEMA mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, and training activities in the six-state New England region. Dan also served as the Executive Director of the Eastern Regional Office at the United States Chamber of Commerce and as a Legislative Representative and Grassroots Specialist for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, where he handled federal emergencies, transportation, technology, privacy, and energy issues.
