FEMA Debris Monitoring

The removal of disaster generated debris is an essential first step to an expeditious recovery. Collecting, sorting and disposing of large quantities of debris must be carefully evaluated within all response planning activities. Management oversight (monitoring) of collection, loading, hauling, processing and disposal resources is primarily the responsibility of the applicant that will be requesting supplemental funding through the FEMA Public Assistance (PA) program which has stringent requirements for any debris removal recovery.

Tidal Basin assists eligible grantees through all phases of the Disaster Debris Management (DDM) process. Our staff have planned and managed large scale debris management operations throughout the country. Beginning with a comprehensively articulated approach within a DDM Plan (DDMP), TB assures processing operations (including monitoring efforts) are completed in compliance with current State and federal funding requirements. Our participation in the pre-selection and training of staff and contracted resources produces an efficient, coordinated removal effort. The knowledge and experience of our planners, managers and field monitors can provide oversight necessary to maximize FEMA PA reimbursements.
