Deborah Diaz
Director, Mitigation
Deborah Diaz joins the Tidal Basin Caribe team as a Director of Mitigation. Before joining Tidal Basin, Diaz was the group supervisor and branch chief for the Hazard Mitigation Community Planning Program and Flood Plain Management and Insurance Program. Deborah also served as senior directive for housing state agency and several federally funded local programs for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Deborah has more than 20 years of management experience and collaboration with external agencies and programs to conduct mission-oriented analysis of complex survivor-centric issues. She is an emergency manager who has led assorted teams under challenging operational environments.
Diaz holds a bachelor’s degree in general arts, urban planning, and environmental ecology from the University of Puerto Rico.
