Please join us in congratulating Esrone McDaniels on his well-deserved promotion to Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tidal Basin!
As Deputy COO, Esrone will be supporting our COO, Mark Misczak, CEM, with driving our corporate operational objectives for extensive and sustainable growth. He will work to enhance our company’s workflow strategy, the organization of all operational units, and the processes required to conduct work with efficiency and customer satisfaction. His duties will include evaluating company performance, establishing policies and plans to promote our company’s vision and culture, and collaborating with the executive team and business unit leaders to set and meet business development goals.
Esrone first joined Tidal Basin as a member of our project staff in support of our work in Puerto Rico, including his service as Deputy Project Manager for Policy on the STEP program and Project Manager on the R3 program. He soon rose to his most recent role as Vice President and Managing Director of Tidal Basin Caribe, where he has been responsible for oversight of all projects in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Esrone has over 23 years of experience leading more than $2 billion in disaster recovery housing programs. Prior to joining Tidal Basin, he served in key governmental and consulting leadership roles with disaster management and engineering consulting firms. He has a broad understanding of HUD, the CDBG-DR program, and the nuances associated with implementation and compliance and has assisted in managing numerous large-scale housing and infrastructure programs.
His previous government leadership roles include Homeownership Program Director for the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, CDBG-DR Administrator with the Florida Department of Community Affairs (currently the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity) and Executive Director of the Florida Governor’s Office of Urban Opportunity. In these roles he worked closely with more than 100 local governments throughout Florida lending guidance and technical assistance for housing, community and economic development, and infrastructure projects.
Esrone holds a B.S. in Finance and Multinational Business Operations and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Florida State University. He currently works out of our Guaynabo, Puerto Rico office but will be relocating back stateside in early 2022.
