About The Governor’s Hurricane Conference
The Governor’s Hurricane Conference (GHC) is the nation’s largest and best-attended conference for hurricane planning, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. The GHC is an opportunity to identify best practices and learn from the mistakes and successes of others. The conference provides trainings, workshops, and networking events with emergency management professionals.
The theme this year of the GHC is “From Forecast to Action.» There are 34 Training Sessions, 56 Workshops, and an informative General Session scheduled to share lessons learned from the 2023 season revolving around the optimization of the emergency management plan from the moment a hurricane is detected.

Mitigation Specialist
Tidal Basin is currently seeking candidates for the role of Mitigation Specialist for current and future mitigation projects, assisting client recovery from disasters. The ideal candidates will be dynamic mitigation professionals with a solid understanding of Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) programs including the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grants. This position requires technical assistance, analysis, monitoring, and policy interpretation in support of Federal and State grants management processes. Subject matter expertise in hazard mitigation and emerging trends in resiliency is required.

Public Assistance Technical Specialist
Tidal Basin has an opportunity for an experienced FEMA Public Assistance Technical Specialist. The selected candidate will deploy and work onsite at the client’s location providing assistance on FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the FEMA PA grant program and will be capable of managing multiple tasks with demanding deadlines. Candidates must demonstrate a successful track record of working collaboratively with stakeholders ensuring compliance with the PA program guidelines.
