International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated worldwide on December 3 and centers around promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities and raising awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life.

“It is important to reinforce the importance of securing the rights of people with disabilities so that they can participate equally and effectively in society,” said Daniel A. Craig, CEO of Tidal Basin. “That is the culture we strive for at Tidal Basin, where barriers are lifted so everyone can reach their full potential.”

International Day of Persons with Disabilities was created by the United Nations in 1992 and has been observed annually ever since.
