Company matches individual employee contributions

Rising Phoenix Holdings Corporation (RPHC), comprising the country’s leading emergency management and disaster recovery firms, Tidal Basin and Adjusters International, announced today donations totaling $37,200 to charities across the U.S. in support of communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Since our founding 35 years ago, our priority has always been helping local communities recover from disasters and that focus will continue,” said Executive Chairman Ron Cuccaro. “COVID-19 has left many in need and our employees have once again risen to the challenge and personally donated to charities of their choice providing an opportunity for the company to match their donations.” In response to growing numbers of coronavirus cases this March, RPHC worked with The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties in New York to establish an employee matching grant program to support not-for-profit organizations assisting community members impacted by the pandemic. Those donations supported the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund, which provides human-service needs to families and businesses affected by the virus in Herkimer and Oneida counties in upstate New York.

In addition to the Community Foundation donations, RPHC employees donated to several charities across the U.S., including Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C., United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, Krewe of Red Beans in New Orleans, and Denver Metro Emergency Food Network.

Stephanie Murphy, Tidal Basin’s VP of Preparedness, Resiliency and Emergency Management, chose to donate to a local food bank in her community. “The Chester County Food Bank focused on developing a business continuity plan several years ago, which helped them tremendously during COVID-19 to stay operational and get food to those in need, said Murphy. “I donated to them because they demonstrated a strong commitment to keeping their community viable during disruption and focusing on feeding those in need, including many who recently became at risk to food insecurities due to COVID-19.”

Another RPHC employee, Kim Sekol, commented on the impact her donation and the corporate match had on Three Square, a food bank in her Las Vegas community. “I want to thank RPHC for the generous match. It brought 1,500 meals to my community at a time when so many small businesses and people who are either self-employed or in the entertainment and hospitality industries have been so adversely affected.”

The campaign surpassed its goal of $7,500 in employee donations which were matched by the company. RPHC also made a direct donation to the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Response Fund, for a grand total of $37,200 in donations to support community members across the U.S.
