Please help us welcome Michelle Burnett to Tidal Basin as our new Senior Director on the Preparedness, Resiliency and Emergency Management (PREM) team!

Michelle is a planning and response professional with more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), and Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM). Prior to joining Tidal Basin, Michelle held the role of Senior Manager of Enterprise Response and Resiliency at a major healthcare organization and also served as their COVID-19 federal response liaison to “The Operation” and vaccine task force.

Michelle also previously served as State Floodplain Coordinator and as Chief of Planning for the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Master of Marine Affairs – Coastal Policy and Management, both from The University of Rhode Island, and she is currently enrolled in the Public Health Preparedness graduate certificate program through Penn State University.
