Tidal Basin is proud to be a Gold Star Sponsor of the Katie’s Star Memorial Golf Outing taking place on August 24th at Davis Countryside Meadows in Pavilion, New York. The golf outing supports a fund created after the daughter of two Tidal Basin employees, Linda and Mike Maiellano, was fatally wounded in an automobile accident on August 15, 2006.
The 22-year-old Katie Lynn Maiellano had a strong dedication to helping others throughout her too-short lifetime and had indicated her desire to be an organ donor – an act that saved the lives of several individuals. To honor her memory, the Maiellanos also established the Katie’s Star Memorial Fund to help cover lodging, travel, and other expenses related to living donor transplants.
